Community Pet Food Pantry

The Community Pet Food Pantry at the Euclid Animal Shelter is designed to support pet owners in Euclid who are experiencing temporary financial hardship. This program provides access to pet food and basic supplies so that families can continue to care for their animals during difficult times. Our goal is to keep pets in their homes and reduce the number of animals surrendered to the shelter for reasons related to cost.

What We Provide

The pantry offers a variety of pet food and supplies based on availability. This may include dry and wet dog and cat food, cat litter, and occasional basic care items such as bowls or leashes. Inventory depends on donations and community support, and items are distributed with the intention of assisting as many households as possible.

Why It Matters

Many pets are brought to shelters not because they are unwanted, but because their owners are struggling to afford basic necessities. By offering a reliable source of pet food, the pantry helps prevent unnecessary surrenders, reduces strain on shelter resources, and supports responsible pet ownership within the community. Keeping pets with their families benefits both the animals and the people who care for them.

How To Help

Community support is essential to the success of the pantry. Donations of unopened pet food and supplies are always needed to keep the pantry stocked. Those interested in contributing can drop off donations directly at the Euclid Animal Shelter during regular business hours or contact the shelter for more information. Volunteers assist with organizing, inventory, and distribution, and local businesses and organizations may also partner with the shelter through sponsorships or donation drives to expand the program’s reach.

Our Commitment

The Community Pet Food Pantry reflects the commitment of the Euclid Animal Shelter to serve both animals and the people who care for them. By addressing a common barrier to pet ownership, this program helps build a stronger, more compassionate community in Euclid.
